Pupil Development Grant (P.D.G)
Declaration of intent
Two of our school’s 5 promises are that we ‘create a safe environment for all pupils to flourish’ and are ‘true to our team’. This simply means that we are all here equal and with the right to feel safe and valued members of the school family. This grant ensures that we can achieve this to the best of our ability.
A good relationship is the basis of everything at Ysgol Glan Clwyd and because of this we will recognise the needs of our pupils. Our aim is to ensure that we give the best opportunities, prevent any obstacle to progress and see possibilities on a daily basis to ensure the academic and social growth of our pupils.
This grant will:
• Ensure that the families of PDG pupils feel that they are a valuable part of school life and that their progress and prosperity are important to us as a community
• Ensure that there is an effective transition for PDG pupils from its primary cluster schools to Glan Clwyd school
• Ensure provision that will enable PDG pupils to imptove their numeracy and literacy skills
• Ensure that the engagement of PDG pupils and their education is a priority in order to ensure the best possibilities in life
• Ensure that basic life skills are strengthened through alternative methods
