We strongly recommend all prospective parents and pupils visit the school on one of our Open Evenings to get a real feel for the school and what we offer.
The school holds an Open Evening for Year 6 and 5 pupils annually in October. Prospective pupils and their parents/guardians are able to visit faculty areas, talk to our pupils and discover the ethos at the heart of Ysgol Glan Clwyd. Visitors discover the meaning behind our ethos of “Achieving Excellence Together”. Pupils’ work is open to scrutiny but more importantly are the conversations with the pupils and staff themselves. Their enthusiasm is infectious and their positive attitude to learning is apparent to all those who engage with them.
We appreciate that the transition to secondary school can be a difficult and daunting time for Year 6 pupils and their parents/guardians. By providing as much information as possible about our school we aim to help you make an informed decision about your child’s future. We believe that such openness about both your and our expectations of the school of your choice forms the basis of the home/school partnership essential to your child’s achievement.
